INSIDE THE BEST LIFE THROUGH LÁNRE

Atlanta's newest singer/songwriter is bringing new meaning to the word 'popstar' into the new streaming era of music.

Born and raised in Central New Jersey Lánre (born Olánrewaju Keyede, December 16, 1992) began his music career at age 10 when he attended a music school and was classically trained in vocal performance. Since then, he continued performing in off-broadway musical productions and local festivals in Atlanta when his family moved south during his sophomore year of high school in 2008.

It was in Atlanta that Lánre discovered his songwriting talent and released a 6-track demo at age 15 under the tutelage of his cousin and mentor, Mike Will Made-it.

Lánre continued writing and performing his songs in and around Atlanta during and after he graduated college where he discovered his sound of a mix of RnB, Electronic Dance, and Pop genres that was truly unique to him.

Lánre's artistry promotes a sense of nostalgia akin to the era of pre-streaming pop stars like Michael Jackson, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and Chris Brown, which he frequently lists as major influences on his music and look.

With the 2020 release of his debut EP, In My Dreams, Lánre has shown that he is ready to make an impact on the music industry in a major way. In just a year of its release, the independently released project has gained over 300k+ streams, with lead single “Beautiful Lies' ' crossing 190k+ streams. He also received support by BBC Radio for his single, “Somebody New (graymattr Remix)”, which is crossing 180k+ streams. Atlanta’s newest breakout singer is definitely an artist to keep an eye on as he sets the stage for the new-age of superstardom. Lánre is artistically at the top of his game and surely has a huge future ahead. And the most exciting part – he’s still only really just getting started.

How are you living your best life right now?

I'm starting to learn the importance of giving myself more respect and credit. Not in a cocky way, but more so in a way of recognizing my self-worth and all the hard work that I do. I find myself more at peace and happy in general since I've started to do this.

Talk to us about your new music!

My latest single is called 'No Bodies' and it was released on February 18th! It's a really fun upbeat pop/RnB song that took me back to when I would write for fun before I started releasing professionally.

When do you know when a song is done, DONE?

Whenever I get goosebumps from listening to the final mix of a song from beginning to end, that's when I know it's ready. I can't really describe it past that, it's a feeling I get in my soul that I know will be felt by everyone who listens to it from that point on. I try not to mess with it much after that happens.

Where did the title come from?

The title of “No Bodies” came to me one day when I was scrolling through a comments section on Instagram. I kept seeing this phrase ‘no face, no case’ which basically means that if you don’t post the face/body of the person you're going out with, you won’t be held accountable to call them your boyfriend/girlfriend.

How did you become inspired to make this song?

I thought the phrase 'no face, no case' was hilarious and a really good song idea. Personally, I’m always dodging questions from my friends and family about who I’m dating or if I’m dating at all. Part of the song is about me keeping that side of my life private for now, so the title can also be read as ‘No Bodies’ business.

How did you approach this song vs. songs past?

Developing this song was a slightly different experience than my other songs mainly because it took on a life of its own when I was writing it. Typically, I base my songs on a personal experience or feeling, but for this song, I was purely just writing an entertaining story. It was a really fun experience that I think transferred over to the final record!

Where do new fans go to follow you?

Fans can keep up with me on Instagram @lanre.official, TikTok @lanreofficial, & Twitter @lanre_music. I’m going to be doing a lot of shows this year, so be sure to check my social channels for updates on those! I carve out a piece of each day to respond to messages and DMs from those platforms, it's one of my favorite parts of being an artist.

Where can fans stream and support you?

Fans can stream my music on all the major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and YouTube at Lánre.

What are you most excited about the new single?

I'm excited for fans and listeners to have fun while listening to No Bodies. There are so many crazy things happening in the world today and it makes me really excited to think that my song is giving people a break to just listen and enjoy.

Can you leave us with some inspiration for our audience and how they can live their best lives?!

This might sound cheesy at first but stick with me when I say: the key to living your best life is inside of you. I believe we're all given the tools to be happy and live out our lives to the fullest when we're younger. The older we get, the more we lose sight of it. I'm still learning how to do this, but you can start discovering your inner happiness by listening to your instincts more every day. This process is what led me to start my professional music career, which has changed my life in so many ways. Living your best life is a journey, and I encourage anyone reading this to start as soon as possible!
