What stands out to you as being the piece of music that has changed the game for the industry? One of my favorite albums of all time is Brad Paisley’s Wheelhouse. It was something that was so well done and brought up a lot of topics and things that people don’t typically allow popular art to talk about. I think it was one of his best Albums and one that encouraged and challenged me personally to never shy away from speaking the truth in a way that can promote discussion. You are a game changer yourself... how do you want to change the game with YOUR music? I want people to come together and realize that they are all created on purpose with a purpose and that’s to serve and help others. If we all saw our uniqueness as a gift to each other instead of a way to be selfish, our communities would be stronger and we’d all have something to share with one another. How are you putting together your next project? I’m working right now on trying to bring together a bunch of ideas that will move people. Too often we look at art as just something to fill space, and not as something that can truly move people and change lives. Who are you collaborating with? I have quite a few friends who are very gifted and talented that want to serve others by sharing their talents. I have been trying to practice what I preach by including the very people that I do life with. Who are you giving credit to when it comes to how this upcoming music is being made? My fans, family and friends. The music I make is because of them. Without my family's support, I wouldn’t have the fans that I have. Without the fans, I wouldn’t have the friends that I have. And because of all of them, the music continues to be made. Biggest lesson so far this year that you are taking into this summer?! Everything happens for a purpose. We may not know it yet, but the very setbacks we have now can and will be used down the road to speak life into yourself or someone else. What is something EPIC you did this summer to contribute to your art? I was privileged to headline a festival out in Idaho which for me was the farthest I’ve been for the sole purpose of my own music and it was absolutely amazing. You are just EPIC! Don’t wait for someone to give you your dream. Go and chase it. The hardship that comes along with going after your dream makes getting there so much sweeter.
