Hello Naomi Sky! Thank you for speaking with me today!
You just released your new song 'With You'! Will you tell us about it?
Yes I’m so excited to have this song out in the world! It’s all about passion, love, and desires; the idea that desires are beautiful and human, and believing it’s possible to feel passion in a committed, loving, healthy relationship.
What was the creative process for it?
I wrote the song in my bedroom when I was at college and in my feels. Taking it into the studio and working on the production/creating the vibe with my producer was so much fun! We booked a session last minute, and it ended up being amazing!
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
I love Ariana Grande, Alina Baraz, Katy Perry, Alessia Cara, and ABBA!
Who would be a dream collaboration for you?
I think it would be so much fun to create a song with Katy Perry and Alina Baraz! Their styles are so different, and I feel I am somewhere in between. So I think it would be a really cool project. A male artist I absolutely love and would be honored to work with is Gunnar Gehl! I’m so impressed by his songwriting skills and think it’d be fun to work together!
Do you have a saying or piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?
“Art is a reflection of life.” This is an idea I thought of a few years ago when I first started writing and recording music. All art comes from the heart, and I think that’s why we are drawn to certain songs when going through a breakup or feel deeply when a specific song comes on the radio. Music speaks to the soul
Any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?
Yes I have another single coming out in early October and then an album that is predicted to be released sometime in 2022!
