THE CLASSICS WITH CLASSIC WILLIAMS

Classic Williams is letting us know what music are classics for him!
What songs are classic for you?
A "Classic" song to me is a song that can stand the test of time. I grew up listening to alot of 90's Hip Hop. My mother used to love listening to Lauryn Hill and the Fugees. Song's like "Killing me softly with his song" are classic's to me. When I became a young man I expounded upon those tastes and started listening to alot of east coast hip hop. Songs like Jay Z's "Song Cry" or "H to the Izzo" are classic's to me as well. What songs of yours are classic?
I have a song called "Repeat (Sushi)" produced by my mentor Klassix Jones that a lot of people know me for. I feel like that one's pretty timeless. Another classic song of mine would be "The Fall" produced by my good friend Aaron "Opie" Howard would be another great example. What are you instilling in your music right now that you hope will transcend time? I would say that what I hope to instill in my music that can cross those thresholds would be a sincere sense of genuiniality. I always tell people that being yourself is your greatest weapon. Each one of my songs represents a time period in my life, and even when I'm just having fun and spitting bars there's usually quips included within them that encapsulate what I'm going through at the moment. It's these small details that separate you from the stuff that's just going to be here today, and gone tomorrow. Talk to us about your latest single! Best part of it for you! My latest single is called "Memories". I believe the best part about it is that it was loosely inspired by true events. I think that life imitates art and that the best songs come from those places. The purity of making art in the midst of turmoil is very therapeutic especially when you're dealing with heartbreak. What was the hardest part about releasing it? The hardest part for me isn't necessarily letting it go off into the universe and having people see it and judge it. It's quite the opposite for me. I want as many people to listen to it as possible. It's breaking down that glass ceiling and getting people to give you the time of day that can be the most challenging. Give us some advice on how you are living YOUR best life? Well I just recently bought my first condo, and I'm very happy to be a homeowner. I've been working on shopping my music for placements lately for tv, and film, and I've been receiving positive responses. I guess to answer your question I'm living my best life because I wake up every day, and I decide to work hard and win no matter the cost! Because of that mindset I've been able to see a lot of my dreams come true, and I'm sure I'll see many more come to fruition in the future. Performing live soon? I don't have anything planned as of yet. I just got off a string of shows recently. I opened up for KRS ONE at the basement east and also performed at my first festival called the Unapologetically BLK Festival hosted by EBCM. With Covid it's tough, because of the restrictions. I had a show in LA that was cancelled because of that, but I'm sure I am going to get back out there again soon. Don't you worry. I'm never going to die! Give us all your socials!
