THE PORTAL OF CELIANE THE VOICE
Celiane The Voice is a driven, passionate and charismatic singer with a truly unique approach. Her music is a kaleidoscopic, borrowing from styles as diverse as R&B, Soul, Latin, Pop, and even Broadway!
What stands out to you as being the piece of music that has changed the game for the industry?
That is a hard question. Really the music that has changed the game for me is gaming and anime music. A lot of people don’t listen to classical music like they used to, but gaming and anime has brought some of the most beautiful orchestrations we have ever experienced. It is like they took Mozart or Beethoven to a whole new level. That is what inspired me to sing “Inner Universe” from the Ghost in the Shell animated series. I keep up on anime and video games just for their music and story lines.
You are a game changer yourself... How do you want to change the game with YOUR music?
I want to inspire more audible art to be created. I want people to create their own pieces of work that is unique and mind blowing. That makes it worth it for me. I had to create a genre to fit my voice because I don’t sound like everyone out there. I am not totally classical, yet you hear opera in my voice. It was made for it, but that is not where my love lies, it is just what my voice does. So I added my elements that I absolutely love in music.
How are you putting together your next project?
I am using my love of science and art to work on evolving Celiane into areas that relate to people in everyday life. The struggle of being balanced, the pull between good and bad etc. I am wanting to work my own gaming and anime album and then take Celiane in a different direction all together.
Who are you collaborating with?
I have not collaborated with anyone except my executive producer, Bill Williams. I generally come up with the ideas and then I go over it with my team, consisting of my stage director and my choreographer and other members of the team to bounce ideas off of them.
Who are you giving credit to when it comes to how this upcoming music is being made?
That would be my executive producer, Bill Williams Media and my mastering engineer, Jay-J. Bill takes what I bring him and makes it work the way it should. He is super professional and knows his stuff. It is a long process but it has worked for what we have made so far. I knew I had to find a producer who knew the technical that I didn’t, but I know the sound I want to hear. We come together and create the masterpieces that Celiane sings.
Biggest lesson so far this year that you are taking into this summer?!
The biggest lesson is patience, more than anything else. With so many cosplay, anime and gaming conventions, I don’t get why most don’t understand what I am doing. But then, that is my niche and I understand that not everyone gets cosplay or why I would want to do it when I sing. I say why not. I have learned to give people and the industry time to digest what I am doing. It is different. I don’t look like the stars out there. I am older than those that are getting signed. I have a disability and it shows. I am totally different from what is considered marketable, but that is exactly why I am pushing the way I am. I dare to be different. The industry doesn’t think different is profitable. Yet it is. So it takes time to stomach something so different yet cool at the same time.
What is something EPIC you're doing this summer to contribute to your art?
Something EPIC I am doing is continuing to build my craft. One way is to be seen. I am also continuing my work which is rooted in acting and movement. I don’t let my disability slow me down with this and my choreographer is amazing in incorporating my limitations in my craft. We are working on the show and the artistry. The show itself is EPIC and this summer to late fall, the world will finally see it.
