Your Best Life Nashville
UNIFYING PEOPLE THROUGH THE POWER OF MUSIC WITH SINGER/SONGWRITER, ALIZA HAVA!!!

We hope you get to visit the ancient Mayan City of Palenque one day, too!!
Hi, Aliza! Thanks for being here!
My pleasure!
What is your writing process like?
It's really different every time. Sometimes melodies and lyrics come to me when I'm driving long distances, and other times, when I'm sleeping. I'll sing them into a voice recorder and then set them to guitar or piano later on and work out the chord progressions. Most of my songs are written solo, but sometimes I co-write as well. Overall, it's a very personal, cathartic, and even spiritual process where I have to tap deep into an emotion I'm feeling in order to create something that really hits home.
What is the most adventurous thing you've done in your life?
Great question! I once worked as a UN ambassador for the Culture of Peace Initiative, promoting the annual United Nations International Day of Peace. Over time, I became a leader of the music committee and organized a world peace concert synchronized on six continents that included over 40 organizations from all over the world. Everyone involved was a volunteer working for the vision and mission of unifying people through the power of music, which was an incredibly powerful and humbling experience.
If you could switch lives with one person for a day who would it be?
Lady Gaga. I want to know what it's like to work my ass off as a musician and social activist AND get paid! LOL.
What is one city you've always dreamed of traveling to?
I've always wanted to go to the ancient Mayan city of Palenque. When I was in college, a good friend of mine inspired me to go there with her, and we made plans to travel together once we finished school. But before we graduated, she got Leukemia and passed away. I hope to one day go there with her photograph and say a prayer in her honor.
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?
I wanted to be a dancer and an actress. Still do, cause I haven't really grown up. LOL. ;-)
If you could do a cameo in any TV series, which series would you choose?
Outlander
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
When someone tells me that a song of mine made them cry, that is the best compliment, because it lets me know that I'm reaching hearts with my music, which is the most powerful thing any artist can do.
What makes you smile the most?
Honestly, my husband. He is the funniest, silliest guy you could ever meet and he really knows how to crack me up!
When have you felt genuinely starstruck?
When I met Gregg Allman backstage at Jazzfest.
